Classic Case - Case Analysis
1. Background:
A customer imported a batch of food from abroad and transferred it from the airport to Jinxia Bonded Logistics Center. The quantity was 142 cartons with a gross weight of 1104KG. The contract terms were FOB. A freight and insurance invoice was required for customs declaration. The weight of the bill of lading provided by the customer at the beginning was 1197KG. The freight invoice was calculated according to 17/KG, totaling 20,349 yuan. On the day of delivery, it was discovered that the gross weight on the original bill of lading was 1104KG, which was 93KG different from the actual weight of 1197KG provided by the customer. The customer was immediately informed to modify the relevant customs declaration documents according to the weight on the bill of lading.
2. Analyze the situation and deal with it accordingly:
When we received the modified weight declaration documents provided by the customer for review, we found that the customer only modified the invoice, packing list, and contract, and the freight invoice amount was still calculated based on the previous weight. If the customs declaration was based on this freight amount, the tariff and value-added tax that the customer needs to pay will increase accordingly. After discovering the matter, we immediately contacted the customer to explain the situation and asked him to contact the transportation company to modify the freight invoice amount, saving the customer unnecessary losses.
3. Operation summary:
Our operators and customs brokers carefully checked the document errors when preparing and verifying the documents, saving unnecessary losses for customers and gaining high trust and praise from customers.
