Cainiao's first air cargo center

A small "newbie" in the community, international express is a giant.

On April 3, Cainiao signed a cooperation agreement with Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (hereinafter referred to as Shenzhen Airport). The two parties will jointly build the first air cargo center in China for Cainiao International Express, introduce more international air cargo routes, increase the capacity of all-cargo aircraft, and further speed up the "export of Chinese goods". As a supporting measure for the deepening of cooperation between the two parties, Cainiao and Atlas officially opened a cargo charter flight route from Shenzhen, China to Sao Paulo, Brazil. This is the first all-cargo international cargo route from Shenzhen to South America, and also the first "cross-border e-commerce air transport line" to the BRICS countries.

Cainiao's advantages in digital logistics technology and cross-border logistics services can realize the rapid transfer of parcels and goods between the airside and landside of the airport, including functions such as distribution and sorting, airside palletizing, customs inspection, customs clearance declaration, etc., to achieve "embedded" supervision process, and equipped with digital logistics technology and equipment, such as LEMO PDA, digital customs clearance system and freight center WMS system. The efficiency of parcel warehousing processing is expected to be optimized by 20%-30%.Cross-border parcel processing efficiency increased by 30%.

By teaming up with global airlines to expand its air cargo network, Cainiao is further accelerating the export of Chinese products.

It is understood that Cainiao has deployed 6 smart logistics hubs around the world, operates more than 3 million square meters of cross-border logistics warehouses, has more than 240 chartered flights per month for trunk transportation, and has established a smart customs clearance system in cooperation with more than 60 ports around the world, building a high-quality global logistics network. Among them, the "5 US dollars 10 days delivery" logistics product has covered 20 countries, helping more cross-border merchants "deliver to the world with the price of a cup of coffee."

Freight tycoon plans to deploy air transport

The express delivery and freight forwarding industries have collectively increased their attention to air freight logistics.

Not only has Cainiao launched international flights, but starting in May, CMA CGM will also launch a ten-year strategic partnership with Europe's largest airline group, Air France-KLM Group. With the most powerful shipping technology, an all-cargo fleet, and 160 long-haul passenger aircraft, it has very strong transport capacity.

Also in May, shipping giant Maersk will open an air cargo route between China and the United States. Previously, ocean freight was booming, and air freight took over. Now that shipping is weak, air freight has become a better choice due to its faster timeliness and cost-effectiveness.

Maersk also recently opened a new air cargo gateway facility in Chicago, adding more supply chain consolidation opportunities for customers using Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Rockford International Airport.
